Product Overview
HepG2 came from liver tissue of a 15-year-old Caucasian male whose hepatocellular carcinoma was well-differentiated. The line is epithelial-like in appearance, non-tumorigenic when put into nude mice, and it holds on to many liver-specific functions — secreting major plasma proteins such as albumin, α2-macroglobulin, α1-antitrypsin, transferrin, and plasminogen. Liver biology, metabolism, toxicology, and drug discovery studies all draw heavily on this human hepatocellular carcinoma line.
For it, GenMute™ siRNA Transfection Reagent for HepG2 Cells arrives with conditions already tuned for efficient siRNA delivery, pairing high transfection efficiency with low cytotoxicity, which suits gene silencing and functional assays in vitro.
