Product Overview
MCF-7, a human breast adenocarcinoma cell line in wide circulation, is the target of the pre-optimized GenMute™ siRNA Transfection Reagent for MCF-7 Cells, which moves siRNA into these cells efficiently. Isolated in 1970 from a Caucasian woman aged 69, the line holds on to much of the character of differentiated mammary epithelium — hormone responsiveness and estrogen receptor (ER) expression among those traits. Investigators turn to it for estrogen signaling, breast cancer biology, proliferation, apoptosis, and how cells answer therapy.
Oncogenic pathways such as Wnt7B are expressed here too, and the cells react to cytokines like tumor necrosis factor-α (TNF-α). Low cytotoxicity alongside high transfection efficiency makes dependable gene silencing and in vitro functional studies possible.
