Product Overview
Primary macrophages take up siRNA efficiently with GenMute™ siRNA Transfection Reagent for PMG, optimized for exactly that purpose. Circulating monocytes give rise to these tissue-resident white blood cells, whose roles sit at the center of innate as well as adaptive immunity. Their work as professional phagocytes involves engulfing and breaking down foreign particles, pathogens, and cellular debris, alongside secretion of the cytokines that steer immune responses.
A characteristic marker set — CD14, CD11b, F4/80 (mouse) or EMR1 (human), Lysozyme M, MAC-1/MAC-3, and CD68 — allows their identification through flow cytometry or immunohistochemical staining.
