Product Overview
SH-SY5Y human neuroblastoma cells receive siRNA efficiently through GenMute™ siRNA Transfection Reagent for SH-SY5Y Cells, which was optimized for this line. Its broad use as an in vitro neuronal model rests on the option of holding the cells undifferentiated or pushing them toward a neuron-like phenotype with agents such as brain-derived neurotrophic factor (BDNF) or retinoic acid. Drug discovery, neurotoxicity, neurodegenerative diseases, synaptic function, and neuronal development are among the questions pursued with them.
Both proliferating and differentiated SH-SY5Y cultures keep viability high under the optimized formulation while robust gene knockdown is achieved.
