Vector Overview
LV-Syn-Cre-Syn-GFP is a pre-packaged recombinant lentiviral vector that expresses Cre under the human synapsin I (SYN1) promoter, with green fluorescent protein (GFP) co-expressed as a fluorescent reporter. The human Synapsin I (SYN1) promoter restricts transgene expression to neurons, making it a standard tool for neuroscience applications. It is active in mature neurons across the central and peripheral nervous system and provides neuron-specific expression in both in vitro cultures and in vivo models. GFP enables direct visualization of transduced cells by fluorescence microscopy, flow cytometry, and live-cell imaging without the need for exogenous substrates. Cre recombinase catalyzes site-specific recombination between loxP sequences, enabling conditional gene activation or knockout in combination with loxP-flanked (floxed) alleles. Lentiviral delivery ensures efficient, stable integration into the host genome of both dividing and non-dividing mammalian cells. LV-Syn-Cre-Syn-GFP is supplied in a ready-to-use format, eliminating the need for vector construction, packaging, and titration.
