The Hoefer SE400 is a compact, rugged and economical air-cooled unit for vertical protein electrophoresis, well suited to teaching laboratories with many users. It takes glass plates up to 18 x 16 cm and has a built-in casting stand that seals without leaks. Adding a divider plate lets it run two gels, and its plates, clamps, spacers and combs are interchangeable with the SE600 Series.
